The sims 2 game is having installation errors?

I cannot buy The sims 3 yet.

I had my the sims 2 uninstalled just a few months again. then I tried to install it again with the same disc. The "globalcatbin.bundle.package" is taking too long to install and it's only 1 percent.
Then an error message popped out, "A problem occurred when trying to transfer the file "J:/TSData/Res/catalog/Bins/globalcatbin.bundle.package" from the media.

I clicked retried but the error message still pops out.

when I first installed this, it worked and I played it. But now, how come it's having installation errors now?
 
Check if the game has any scratches on the back, if not. The data on the disk might be corrupted. You could probably take the disk to a game shop to get it repaired which costs about £2 or if that doesn't work buy a new game.

This happened to me but I went out and bought a new game.
