It is a 97 328 bmw. And the problem is right where the bulb goes into the tail light at. There are two metal plates, (one for power and on for the ground) i assume. One of those plates has burned through and created a hole. But the fuse for the taillights never blew. count it be a short in the wire somewhere? a bad ground? an old tail light?
I was reading up and i found it to be common for the wires in the trunk lid to ge frayed near the bends. Could this be the cause?
