The writer of Hebrews compares Christ as a High Priest with?

I am reading the book of Hebrews, pretty interesting book.

I read about this just last night.

The answer is Melchizedek. It is found in chapter 7 of Hebrews

The name "Melchizedek" means "King of Righteousness."
Melchizedek was also king over Salem. "Salem" means "Peace." Melchizedek is also the "King of Peace."

The writer of Hebrews did a great job in comparing the two, because Jesus is the "King of Righteousness" and "King of Peace."

(This is my opinion, Jesus should not and cannot be compared with anybody. He was one of a kind. He was sinless, He was the very God who created the universe wrapped in flesh)

what you don't realize is he is the same guy

Hebrews 7
1For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him;

2To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is, King of peace;

3Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually.

Melchizedek. He was a guy in the Old Testament who didn't have any parents or ancestors. The Bible doesn't explain why he's not in Eden. Probably because different people were making up different stories. Actually, I know why, and that's not it. Melchizedek is an artifact from when the source documents for the Old Testament still retained polytheistic characteristics. The original name referred to Sudek, a Canaanite/Phonecian god.
