There are information about Mayan prophecies which tell about year 2012. It's true?

They didn't actually predict it thats just when their calander stops.Besides which even if they did predict it there would be no reason to believe it was true.The mayans did a lot of hallucinogenic drugs that would be like asking someone on acid to predict the future.

In internet websites, books, etc, there are information about Mayan prophecies which predict year 2012 is end of the world. Why Mayan predict year 2012 is end of the world? When I read this information, I can't well sleep well and it's scare me. Is Mayan prophecies which predict year 2012 is end of the world, true or not? This information is believable or not?

Nobodies know if they are true as they are prophecies you have to wait until 2013 if you are still around they werent true if everybody is gone they were true

Well... the Mayans also predicted that their king would "literally RULE the world" in like 2046. But the Mayan empire ended long long long... ago. So it's impossible for their king to rule the world.

Just a counterexample...

Also, if I'm not wrong, it's already proven/said by scientists that it will NOT happen. The sun it not going to die next year.
