My dad doesn't want the birds to chew on any wires but the problem is I know a bird or birds live there, I just don't know if there are any eggs or hatchlings in it. Should I move the nest? or should I check if there are eggs or anything in it?

Thanks in advance
To Michael: My dad thinks that the chicks will start chewing or something. He also thinks (I don't know if its true) that if the baby birds hatch there they will return when they are older and build another nest.
Now I hear it's illegal for me to move it? Is that in all states? I live in California by the way

yes you should check it for eggs or babies first, the birds will not chew anything birds cant really chew because they dont have teeth. and if the babies hatch there they probably wont come back to nest, but you shouldnt move the nest whether there are eggs or not. they may lay eggs soon. check it every few days for a week or two and move it if there arent any eggs by then, and then make sure the birds wont be able to make nother nest there.v
