There's something wrong with my computer?

I have a new computer. I got it 7 months ago. I was rearranging my room and I needed a cheater plug for the extension chord i needed to use. I didn't have any so I used the one we were using for our Christmas lights outside. And when I started up my computer the color was like boosted. It's hard to read things and there's no one to mess with the color. Could it be from the cheater plug I'm using or something else?
 
I would try plugging the computer directly into the wall to rule it out
