Things that make you go GRRRRR.... (Part 2)

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!! Was in a road smash earlier today. Don't worry I've been checked out by the amublance people and given the OK, I can't say too much more as the other driver is potentially being done for reckless driving...

Still, my poor car!

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!

The important thing - indeed the ONLY important thing - is that you are OK - Cars can be replaced, people can't be !!!

Sorry to hear that Frodo. *hugs*

I know this sounds so hollow and cheap, but you might heal faster than that. He said it might, not that it definitely would. Hoping for a quick recovery for you.

Ouch. I think I'd go mad without something fitness related. I'm now officially scared of physios and I haven't met one yet. Can you do swimming or other stuff?

Well, it's already been 7 months of not doing any martial art and 4 months of no upper body training.

I can't go swimming because I have to limit the rotation of the shoulder. I'm reduced to lower body lifts at the moment.

And now I'm going to be 8 weeks or so in Stockholm with no weights - aaaarrrrrgggghhhhhh!

I'm not sure yet. I didn't use them as much as I wanted to last year and the weight limit will be an issue. I may just take a pair of trainers and work on some cardio and a bit of bodyweight stuff like pistols.

Shoulders such an important bit of you hey? I never realised until I did mine in. Is the advice coming from the guy in the gym you were going to see or the other one?

That's longer than I've been on MAP

Sorry *insert 'footinmouth smiley here* I didn't think about think through the amount of joint rotation involved in swimming just it being less weight bearing. Running has a fair degree of arm movement too. Cycling?

SMACK

I'm having NHS physio at the moment - it's free and I'm skint, so the private stuff isn't an option right now.

Not to worry. I can't even use a skipping rope at the moment. Shoulders are crap, because they're involved in so much movement!

I can run (I have to be careful with sprinting though). Last time I took my bike out my shoulder was achy afterwards, plus I can't take the bike to Stockholm with me.

I wonder what the effects of 4 month plyo only training would do to a person’s leg power/appearance.

If only we had a test subject…

Grrr to my left hamstring. Couldn't train Tuesday, Weds or Thurs and I don't think it's going to be up to the Hell that is a Sat morning Enshin class tomorrow either. That's a weeks training out the window.

With a bit of luck it'll be OK for next week. I'll have to fit 2 weeks smacking things into one week.

just back from a gig, meet up with Cambridge electronic muso scene, two pints and I'm feeling a bit hazy, such a lightweight!

True story. Any smash where all parties walk away from is a good one.

Still, I'm aching all over, my knees are just wrecked and I can't look up without feeling like the back of my neck is being pinched by the Incredible Hulk...
