Things that make you go GRRRRR.... (Part 2)

First history lesson just now and while the course and the guys I worked with were cool there was one guy who had clearly spent the last month memorising the wiki articles on Russia. Knowing a lot about the subject is good but throwing your hand up with a massive smile on your face everytime a question is asked stopping just short of shouting "miss miss miss" is kinda annoying. That wasn't really a good thing to do in school but in college? Putting your hand up period is pretty wierd to a third year. But that's still kinda forgivable even if it limits your classmate sexual conquest potential to somewhere around mine.

What isn't going to fly for a whole two years is after ever single thing the lecturer tells the class you chime in with some vaguely related fact. That is going to get old very quicky. You know a lot about Russia. We get it. Well done. I know a lot about how to hurt people but I didn't take the "introduce yourself" moment as an opportunity to guillotine the guy next to me or go into incredible detail about the rifles the men in the army picture were holding because it would of been irrelevant and a total waste of everyones' time. God I hate first years. Except the girls, the girls are awesome.

Grrrrrr at people from my old school trying to add me on facebook.
There is no god and he answers no prayers. You know how I know?
Not ONE of them has died of the PLAGUE.

I hate people like that! But really it could have been worse...

I did an Ancient Egyptian Tomb Art course a number of years back and we had a silly new age hippy type on the course who kept trying to tell the lecturer that the pyramids were built by aliens (and she wasn't even a Stargate fan)!

LOL I didn't know you knew me at university!! O.o

Because I was that person while I was doing my russian major at university. I too knew a lot about Russia. People found it funny to like where my prof asked me, playfully, "What's Felix Dzerzhinsky's favorite color?" (he was chief of police from 1917-1926). I guess some found me annoying, but others including my profs, loved me. Especially since I helped me choose essay topics and tutored my classmates in the Russian language.

For some reason, ages after the event, I'm bummed out that the shuttle program is over. You know, when there was a space programme you could feel there was a point to being human. We were getting somewhere. We were doing something important. Now all anyone wants to do is save money.

I'm cool with people knowing more about a subject than me but when "answering" borders on "arse licking and attention seeking" it gets annoying

Heh. Did you randomly interrupt the class to give a load of facts that had next to nothing to do with what you were learning though? That's where me and you could not have shared a class
