Things that make you go GRRRRR.... (Part 2)

I try not to go anywhere near the shops during the weekends leading up to Christmas. If I do, it just ends up raising my blood pressure and lowering my tolerance and anger management abilities!
 
I didn't have much choice. I'd have preferred to head into Toon earlier in the week but there was no chance of me driving up there when it was blaa'n a hoolie like that. Unfortunately it looks like I'll have to brave Mackemland this week seeing as I didn't find anything of use
 
I managed not to have a panic attack though (while confined or open spaces don't bother me, really busy places with people moving every which way get to me at times. Its probably due to bullying at school), even with the amount of midgets in Newcastle (either 90% of the worlds little people were in Newcastle on Friday or I'm getting even lankier!) so an iPod playing blues must have helped
 
Which record shop? My buddy owns a couple in the town and if your looking for something they're defiantly the guys to ask, I got a bunch of Limited addition French hip hop albums shipped over for penny's!
 
The place was called Old Hitz and it was proper records (old 1950's 45s). I cant remember where it was apart from in Newcastle city centre because we found it probably 10 years ago. Bought a couple of records from there then next week dad spent all day in the shop basement looking through everything (spent a canny penny!). I think a younger lad took it over when the owner retired and the guy didn't have a clue!
 
There was a piece about this on PM last week, and how bookshops think people doing this browse scan and go with their phones are effectively sticking a knife into the heart of the high street bookshop. In a few years they won't exist.

Several of the bookshops I bought all of my degree coursebooks in Cambridge are no longer here. Just Waterstones and Heffers left

I can understand it though. I'd like to buy all my food from the local corner shops and while I use the butchers and bakers already, I do also use Aldi and Asda.
 
I really need to go buy some new jeans. I'm down to 3 pairs and two of those have ventilation holes in the crotch ... Will you come protect me Frodo
 
Try ebay! I'm not going anywhere near the shops till February!

Speaking of crotch ventilation and grrrr, my lovely fleecy Ron Hill leggings have a similar problem, which makes training in my garage a bit draughty!
 
Bleah at e-bay. I don't trust it. Not sure I'll make it until February though. I'll just have to brave it out my self. ... *looks at harukoraharu with a big trembling petted lip*
 
Wear black jeans with black, longer legged boxer briefs underneath and no-one will see the holes!

Or order the same style and size of what you're currently wearing from the internet - that's what I do!
 
Sometimes I love the way the female mind works. It totally discounts actual reality in a way not even Adam Savage of Mythbusters to conjure.

For your plan to work, my jeans would already have to be black.
 
Dye them in the bathtub!

And what's wrong with you? Everyone should have black jeans! There's a law about it, I'm sure!
 
Oh I do have black jeans. They're 28" in the waist though. Haven't worn them since I was in my early 20s. I'd have to lose a good 4 inches of my waist line. Wanna help
 
Wha wha what? But you're a total geek, surely you'd be down with eBay. I agree with Frodo, know what size your fav jeans are and create a search for that brand, size, colour. Get an email listing each day, check out what the usual sell price is and if it's reasonable then put a bid in for it. Admittedly I still mess up about 1 in 3 times with getting stuff that wasn't exactly right material or size but the savings on the other 2 in 3 more than make up.

Some idiot at work decided we should decorate our office for xmas in pink, as part of a cancer awareness/memorial theme, not checking that the only thing you can buy this year appears to be a 3ft tree from most supermarkets. I'm currently knitting the longest thin pink scarf in the world for my office. Been three years since I last did any knitting, it could take a while.
 
I've bought loads of things on ebay and only ever had 1 problem (touch wood!). I bought a bike which was advertised as having a 14" frame and turned out to have an 18" frame - obviously it was a smidgeon too large for me. Anyway I kept it, took it to the local bike shop and part exchanged it for more than I paid on ebay for a nice shiny new bike!

If you don't like ebay, use something like http://www.jeanstore.co.uk/ or one of the other online shops.
