I've got a long cycle ride to get to the south of Cambridge for 'that' other interest of mine tomorrow afternoon, and don't fancy dodging cars redirected from the Cambridge Half Marathon which goes past my house as well as the weather
Look, people, I understand snow at this time in March is a bit unusual, I understand shoveling is a strenuous job, what I DON'T understand is why do you think that gives you a pass to dump the snow IN FRONT OF MY FLIPPING GARAGE!
Went and got my gait analysed at "up and running" (need a half size bigger that I thought, wide toes, heel striker, over pronating) and got myself a right pair of bobby dazzler trainers.
Then 3 hours later I attempted a side kick at Karate, got my little toe caught in my partners gi sleeve and ripped that little sucker sideways. It's now going purple.
I still managed to run on it today though.
Vans that have branding on them and contact details but no clue as to what the company actually does.
What's the point of that?
How many people phone up a company on the off chance they need their services?
"Hello Johnson's ltd"
"I saw a van with your name and number on...what do you do?"
"We service industrial lathes"
"Ah right...I don't have an industrial lathe...I need a plumber...bye".
It's stupid and a waste of money.
Some mates of mine took part in their first knockdown competition last week.
One got KO'd with a head punch (against the rules) and so won his match by his opponent getting DQ'd.
When he went to shake his opponents hand afterwards his opponent pushed him away and refused.
Turns out a load of blokes from a shootfighting club in London had entered and won many of the categories.
Just goes to show that traditional values of respect and sportsmanship might be going out the window in some offtopic quarters.
i think i bullied someone new into deleting their first thread yesterday. sorry if you're lurking/reading this. i guess my unhappiness at some things on MAP is making me more belligerent and inclined to attack what i see as rubbish
Delivery drivers who feel that they are within their rights to stop where ever they want and block the road for as long as they want - pull the stupid van over and leave room for people to get passed, you selfish, inconsiderate twit!!!!
Wow that offtopic style prison beating MAKES ME MAD. I can only imagine being in a hellish environment like that, having to defend yourself, I really doubt offtopic inspired any of that fight, sounds like the judge has a vendetta against the sport. So home made knives in prison are a result of what? A zip gun is a result of what? I really am mad at the judge, I dont know the whole story, I just know that fighting is a part of prison life. Period. I've seen enough documentarys. At least USA prisons.
I don't think it says any more than that most judges are out of touch with reality. Whether it's that they live in better neighbourhoods and don't see street violence or just don't get out enough, and the increasing profile of offtopic with the UFC, TUF etc when there can be a lot of blood (I've not noticed it in boxing) and fights continue on the ground.
Whatever he said though, if that other guy had only been in for something like burglary or fraud and ended up dead that is worse than any comment the judge said.
I imagine a lot of prisons are not far off Oz where extreme stuff happens all the time, and while there are people running around who manage to evade prison like Chris Huhne (if not indefinitely ha ha) there are surely others who have been imprisoned on the flimsiest of evidence. What about that guy Dewey Bozella who got a professional boxing match at 52 after 26 years inside
Getting the most interactive presentation in an art class project, full of compliments by both the students and the teacher, only to find out I got a B- on the assignment. Especially when other students whose art looks kinda' cruddy got an A, all because I didn't strictly adhere to a certain set of standards (which I did, and I realize now why the professor had a surprised look when I explained my drawing process during the presentation) that actually allows you to draw like crap and still get an A.
I'm half tempted to spend a quarter of the time on my drawings and just stick to the guidelines now, screw actually trying to better my artistic skills and making the art look good, since apparently that doesn't count for anything.
