GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR at people generally not being able to use any kind of critical thinking for themselves or being nosey pains in the backside!!!
End of last year I fell out with my old karate instructor quite badly. It's a long story. Anyway, a few months later (about march this year) I finally managed to track him down, chat to him and apologise for my side of what went wrong. Even tried to explain why I acted the way I did, though he didn't really care. He even said he would be OK with me coming back if I wanted and initially I said "yes", but when I thought about it afterwards I realised it wouldn't be a good idea and so didn't return.
Now everyone from the dojo I used to be on friendly terms with won't talk to me, look at me, train with me or do anything else. Even guys I hadn't actually done anything to upset in any way walk past me like I'm not there deliberately. When they do look at me, all of them give me filthy looks and people I have previously recommended the dojo to out of courtesy to his effort have gone from being respectful and polite to acting the same way.
Sometimes, I just get really frustrated with the whole herd mentality bull-panties. Surely it shouldn't be so damned hard to think for yourself?!
Also, GRRRRRRRRRRRRR at nosey so-and-so's who bother me while I'm training. A couple of times a week I go up to my local park to a nice, secluded section with shelter and what-not so I can practice my makiwara/pad work (I want to do more, but I worry the noise would wind up the locals too much). Every time I train at the moment someone stops and interferes. I can understand people are curious and I'm perfectly happy for people to stop and ask questions if they want. What I have a problem with is the kids who run up while I'm doing some form of training and start hitting my training items without my permission and get in the way. Or the nut jobs that come up and ask me to train them "how to fight".
PLEASE, if you really wanted to train the way I did, you would have gone to a gym or a dojo, stop wasting my damned time!
Though on the plus side, I was stopped training by a police officer last night...who told me he thought it was really cool that I was training and was happy to let me carry on. Wooop! Only downside? He could hear me hitting my makiwara from across the other side of the park, so it's probably louder than I thought it would be...
Also, grr (small one this time) at the dogs in the park when I train. I always stop hitting stuff when they go past out of courtesy for the owners and the dogs (and indeed mums with small children without dogs, old people, etc). But something about me hitting stuff always makes virtually every dog either ridiculously friendly toward me or hyper aggressive and look for a fight.
