I just think it's time to give up on the breed and start over. My last dog had double hip displasia, gastric problems and skin problems. And I'm pretty sure he was missing a few cogs in the brain pan.
He used to pick fights with much bigger rottwielers and highland bulls (that's the big hairy ones with massive horns on) and he couldn't fight for toffee. And he knew it too. He was also mortally scared of water. Even stupid wee puddles. But he'd happily sit in the rain all day. And he was addicted to tomatoes. Like bite your hand off to get one addicted. And he was friends with a pair of foxes.
