What the Doc Actually said: "You've strained some ligaments and tendons and the muscles will be a bit sore for a while. You should take it easy for a bit."

What you heard: "Nothing wrong with you. You're fine. Stop being a wuss!"

No, doctor (who's first language was certainly not English) said that there was no damage that he could see and that the pain I was in just of driving to the hospital for the check was to be expected, even after 3 weeks. I telt him I was still daeing nowt until I'm relatively pain free.

Saying that, he could have just wanted rid of me. Seriously, what kind of prat tells an aikidoka (and it's on my notes that the injury was in aikido) to grab his wrist as tight as possible?

Instructor was trying to get me to roll properly and landed me square on my neck. After 45 minutes of sitting at the side of the mat not being able to move my head and with pain to my thumb I drove home (no first aider was called). Mam took me straight to the local walk in and I was rushed to A&E, spending the next 12 hours on a spinal board while the docs thought they saw a fracture and spinal cord bruising then suspected a brain injury when they let me up.

Must have been a hard landing. Your instructor is an idiot. In my opinion. I think I remember you mentioning this now. Still look on the bright side. A&E! Nurses!

Didn't get to see much of A&E and nurses - only saw the ceiling, an x-ray machine and a CT scanner. Missed a course with Yokota Shihan because of it too
