Things that make you go :-)) take two!

Climbing walls ROCK. Seriously.

I went climbing yesterday evening. My first run up that wall was freaking scary, but soo much fun. Letting go and riding the safety cable down was a HUGE adrenaline rush. I was laughing my ass off like a freaking maniac. The only thing that mildly spoiled it was subluxing my left knee halfway up and having to use mostly just my upper body and core strength to yank myself up...I'm suffering from a whole world of DOMS today, LOL...

In before people come in with the usual crap about

'Oh dont use that, your abbs and lower back will become so used to you'll no longer be able to lie on the floor without holding on for balance'

Well done on the PR!

You decided on doing this meet yet?

I gave up wanting to be a mesomorph, lol. Long thin people ftw

also, works just fine for Germaine de Randamie...she's 5'11 and 135lbs, lol

In all seriousness, I figured my "OMG must gain 20kg of muscle" thing was just an inverted version of the destructive crap so many girls and young women do: Hate yourself, go hell for leather to improve...Screw that, ectomorph girls deserve to take up space too

Yep!! I was surprised at how easily I could just stretch myself out and explode up that wall. Seriously I subluxed my knee on the way up and I still climbed just fine using my upper body and core strength to pull. I'm mildly addicted now...

Yep, I'm not "incredibly strong" but I do have quite a good strength/weight ratio...

Hang off the edge of a cliff with no rope and a 500metre drop & you'd find incredible

Hehe, I can do incredible when I'm on a massive adrenaline dump. And with added caffeine. LOL.

I do mix in abs work on gym days - hanging leg raises, weighted back extensions, weighted crunches, windmills, russian twists.

I still feel that even just meeting the entry criteria isn't enough, but continue to push myself, and continue to get nagged when the gym manager is there I've only used the belt on squat and only at 70kg and above. If I can get another deadlift at 100kg next week I may try it for 110

I wasn't criticising the use of a belt, I was quite pleased to hear it, sarcasm isn't easy in the web.

Good lass, I'm sure the pulls will go up easy enough.

I'm going to E-nag you too.

Technique is different with a belt too, get one of the PL guys at the gym to explain how to expand the abbs and press them against the belt.

Lol this was while I was off on holiday, I'd love to go climbing again but I don't know of anywhere near me...Will see what I can find out...

All the kids around here do that gorge walking in school. Bobbing down a stream over boulders. Mothers natures water park Too cold for my liking

There's a lot of climbing walls around but the few people I know locally prefer to travel to the nearest centre. I would much prefer watching climbing to golf, snooker or darts

I was still feeling sick from last night, really struggled with 20 minutes of cardio (running then rowing) but was glad I forced myself to go, went onto do 8 sets of weighted crunches, 10 sets of power cleans and 6 sets of DB bench press then I was sweaty betty. The cycle home felt glorious
