Things that make you go :-)) take two!

Haha now you've made that joke his comment actually makes sense. No idea if the first bit was an actual question or a set up for the joke but just in cas: Reid won in a fight that consisted of zero power punches and no traingle defence from the other dude. Everyone who watched it believes its a fix, me included, and if Elite XC was anything to go by the fight may kill UCofftopic. Which I will also be incredibly happy about because the org sucks even by uk standards.

Last night I tested the shed made entirely out of recycled/junk timber. I got a good night's sleep apart from the time the bat got in. We need to fix the door so it's not held shut by a piece of string. But apart from that, it makes me go

I didn't know the result. Heard that UCofftopic sucks and it's all about UFC from friends on google + tis not an area I know much about

It does suck and if it turns out this fight was a fix it needs to close down. British offtopic is poor enough without having some two bit promotion fixing fights for some guy who was on tv for dating Jordan. Actually, Reid's uk exposure is a better reason to close them down. He's probably the best known fighter in the uk and if that's most people's only offtopic knowledge and they hear he was in a fixed fight it doesn't do much good for the sport. Hell even if they don't prove anything they might have to close if there's enough speculation to discredit the org.

I'm only really a ufc fan but some guys from my gym were discussing it on facebook so I had a look.

EDIT: Fight video's been removed but part of the build-up included this wonderful piece of theatre.

successfully doing 3x3 front squats with 50 kilograms (just under my own weight) makes me go

also managed to get further on the sideways movement on the climbing wall by about one meter compared to the last time. couldn't feel my forearms when i left the gym

oh, and bagwork gonna slowly build up my endurance with it. breathing is getting better but still sucks, tris were shot from parkour so i only did around 80 jabs and 80 crosses with each arm. must eventually build up over time to 100, then add 100 hooks, 100 lead hooks, 100 jab-cross, 100 cross-lead hook and 100 jab-cross-hook with both stances (southpaw and orthodox), as well as a crapton of low-kicks. LOW KICKS LOW KICKS LOW KICKS!!!

i love bagwork

this made me go *

*actually more like: ".....hehehe...heheheee...hehehehehahahahahaha....ahahahahahahahahaha!!!"

cheers! now if only i weighted twice that so the bodyweight squat was actually an achievement...

also still need to improve ankle mobility. having trouble doing hang cleans. but at least i can do them (albeit rather crappily)

I take the opposite view, I wish I weighed at least 10lb less so I would be closer to a decent squat percentage!

My Oly lifting coach said to really emphasize the shrug and the hip flick action.

i know, amputate your arms!

*ENVY* i wish i had an oly lifting coach. point on the shrug though, but my main problem is, as far as i'm aware, my poor dorsiflexion range of motion (which also gives me problems while squatting). i absolutely can't do a hang clean and drop quickly without ending up almost in a sumo stance (power cleans are a bit better in that respect, as they're easier due to inertia). might have to try taking the bar out of the rack to be able to bend my legs more without the bar hitting the sides of the rack (my kingdom for a squat cage).

I'm more concerned with the wobbly bits on my thighs!

When working hang and power cleans, we never really dropped that low in the catch phase, so problems with dosiflexion were never really an issue.

I'm a woman, I have to have concerns about the wobbly bits on my thighs (and bum). It's an evolutionary psychological trait, for which I can't be held responsible!

as a practical man, i offer you a solution: i'll hold your wobbly bits for you

that's the thing, mine is so fricking bad that i can't drop at all with a decent width stance. i actually have issues squatting without weight because of it (with weight it's easier since the weight itself compensates for my body's center of gravity going backwards), as well as a very very slight deficit in hip flexion that makes my pelvis tuck right at the end of the ROM (but that's probably hip flexor weakness due to shortening, in b4 obvious joke is obvious).
