throat problem - had for months.?

hey all - just wondering if anyone could shed some light:

i hav had tonsilitis on and off again for about 3 or so years... apparently i built up a resistance to the medicine. (dw its being taken care of)
anyway. in the last half a year or so... a bit more, ive been getting really big lumps or raised areas on the back of my throat that really hurt.
just wondering if anyone has had something similar and what it might be...

Please ignore the idiotically naive simpletons who say "cancer". It's very common to get spots and lumps on the tonsils when you're prone to tonsillitis, it's also common to get large crater-like holes, your tonsils have just become scarred from all the infection, the lumps can sometimes ooze a foul-smelling substance and become painful and infected. There isn't anything that can be done other than a long course of antibiotics for an underlying infection. Gargling with salt water may help ease the pain. You may need your tonsils removed.
