Ok, so I have two email addresses: [email protected] and [email protected]. Those aren't their real names, obviously. Both addresses have the same incoming mail server, because both are hosted by the same company. They also have the same outgoing server.
Now my problem: I tried to add the new @new.com address (it's new, as the name suggests, I've been happily using the @old.com account for a while now) by going to account settings > account actions > add account.
But it overwrote my old one, so I have two identical accounts, both of which are for the @new.com email address. When I tried to alter one back to the old address, it changed both. What am I doing wrong?
TL/DR: Thunderbird keeps creating duplicate accounts, I cannot create two separate accounts - possibly because they share an incoming mail server?
Any advice is hugely appreciated!
