Tips for high school soccer tryouts?

Defense is actually harder. You have to have more confidence than strikers in my opinion. Also, you would need a little more experience to do well because strategy starts from the defender's line because they can see the whole field. It's not just trying to get the ball and launch it as far up the field as possible.

My tip is to have a good mind set. The physical part may make you feel you want to quit. Just don't. Try to get yourself hyped and don't half A$$ anything just always try really hard. They will see how hard you're trying if you really are. They can teach you how to play soccer, you just have to show them that you want to.

Im trying out for the high school soccer team, and I dont have much experience.
Im gonna go out for defense since im good at getting the ball away from other people. But is there any grills are such i should work on to make the team?

Being a defender, it is really good when a defender is comfortable at controlling the ball, passing short and long balls. And a must be decent at heading. and ofcourse tackling. But the thing that always helps a lot............

When you play the trial game. Make sure you play your hardest the whole game, the coach will always notice that.
