Title and author of this book?

I am trying to remember the title and author of this book i read some 8 or 9 years back, i only remember certain details such as the fact that it is a vampire novel. The story line which is about a young sickly woman (she has some type of rare blood disease) whose parents die and she moves to an old house in a small town, where she can recuperate. she is an accomplished author and spends her time trying to write her latest novel. she does not know that the house she lives in has a cave below it where a vampire lives, the vamp is drawn to her and it turns out she is his one true mate or something like that..
Any ideas?
