To all those Republicans complaining how much Unions make, pull yourself...

...up by your own bootstraps and quit? complaining.

Is this a valid response or am I asking the impossible in this economy?
Unions keep wages UP for the workers, otherwise companies would pay minimum wages, and that can't be good for America.

OK people, if you go back and read your history books, you will then understand why there are UNIONS. Does the same fight have to be done over and over again because you are too lazy to study the past and the reasons why unions came into being? Bloody wars were fought to have unions because greedy rich people when left to their own devices, will suck the living blood right out of the workers veins and ask for more. Why has the IQ gone down in America? What is wrong with you all? Go read history and find out why we need unions, not corrupt ones but good ones. Unfortunately, business and union have all become greedy. However, I still want a union on my side and I personally have been defended and won my case when I was being victimized by the management, who incidentally was hired from a Middle east country and thought women were second class. A good old American company...hired him..Beefsteak Charlies. anyone remember them? Poor lowly waitress being harrassed and belittled because I mentioned to the manager that it was illegal in America to do what he thought he could do AND I WON!

they are trying to break unions to further their own profits . the zionist invention of free trade agreements has put millions of americans OUT of good jobs , while giving the jobs to communists in china , just so the fat cat CEOs can make a few pennies EXTRA profit . it's time to turn away from the zionist agenda of greed of wall street , corporations , and the banks .
congress voted those free trade agreements in , congress can vote them OUT . it's time to put the american working man first .

I have no problem with private companies screwing themselves with insane union deals. I have an huge beef with public employees being unionized at all. This group is a cancer on America and needs to be outlawed.

Really?
In my state there are teachers who cannot be fired once they have taught for 3 years and 1 day that is called tenure
They make up to $119,000 per year and property taxes have gone through the roof
Tiny homes with about 1,300 SF on 1/4 acre are paying over 17,000 (that is correct seventeen THOUSAND dollars) a year in property taxes to support them
Meanwhile our educational system has declined, and teachers have been telling parents to do the teacher's work and teach their own kids to read.
Unions are like the Mafia on steroids.
Often they take dues to do nothing for their members also.
They have in may instances milked the cow dry, which has caused the dried up cow to take its business overseas and no more jobs in that industry exist in this country.
Yes Unions have added to the problem
Like it or not
Unions cause young people not to be able to get a job also.
I am sorry if the union you are in has spoiled you, but that is just the way it is the country which has bailed out the UAW. Americans are fed up with Unions.
Particularly unions in the public sector that are employed by government with our tax dollars.

They have also made us completely non competitive in the global market so that people have lost their jobs. When is enough enough. And people call conservatives greedy.

Unions also encourage workers to quit their jobs for a little extra cash and put a strain on businesses in this economy, not to mention the big unions today are run by corrupt people who give millions in donations to the democratic party. And unions had their heyday some 100 years ago, nowadays they have become the very companies they were fighting against.

I have never worked for a Union and I can tell by your uneducated post, I make a more in year than you could make in 200 years.

Why?

I have ambition, you don't.

Never been in a union and wouldn't join one now. Why don't you ask your union higher ups if your pensions are funded, theirs are. Why don't you ask them for an accounting of how union dues are spent. Why don't you ask them tough questions? Is it because you are afraid of the answers?
