Hello,
I'm writing an essay for To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee, and my topic for the essay is to describe how Boo Radley is the "mockingbird" of the story for these reasons:
1.) He helps the protagonists (Jem and Scout) throughout the story. (ie, the blanket, the knothole)
2.) He saves Jem and Scout, and Heck Tate doesn't expose Boo as a hero, to stop the town from viewing him as a hero, which Boo doesn't want. Therefore, that would be to kill a mockingbird.
3.) Counterargument: Why Tom Robinson IS NOT the mockingbird.
As you can see, I have all the reasons I need, but I can't come up with a good thesis. The thesis has to be UNANCHORED. And can't be metaphorical. I need help, and the rough draft is due TOMORROW!!!!! I just need the thesis, please help!
P.S. If you can, help me come up with a better counterargument against Tom Robinson about why he isn't the mockingbird, mine isn't super strong.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
