To much PDA around our friends?

My boyfriend and I have been dating for quite a while now and really love each other. We are both 17 and have the same group of friends that we hang out with. Our friends think we have to much PDA but all we ever really do in front of them is hold hands and be around each other. We never kiss or anything like that in front of them. It's starting to bother me they think that we have to much affection in front of them. What do you guys think?
 
If you are only holding hands than there's barely any PDA at all. Maybe your friends are just jealous that you are in a happy relationship and they are not. But if you really don't want to piss off your friends, than save whatever your doing for later.
