...conspiracy nutter)? I can't ever remember seeing any contrails do they occur in Perth, or is the weather here not right for them to appear?

There needs to be moisture in the air to form contrails. The longer the contrails, the more moisture and most chance for rain. That's one way how the native americans (Indians) learned to tell the weather. Just kidding......
