After Tony Parker and the San Antonio Spurs were eliminated by the Oklahoma City Thunder in the 2012 Western Conference Finals, Parker’s next order of business is traveling to France to play for his national team. However, on his way there, Parker suffered one of the most fluke injuries you’ll ever hear about.
While partying in a club in New York with his friend Chris Brown, Parker suddenly was in the middle of a club brawl. With bottles flying everywhere, Parker was hit in the eye with flying glass while trying to protect his girlfriend.
Once he arrived in France, he went straight to the doctor. Thankfully for Parker, the doctor reported that it wasn’t a major injury. The star point guard will need to use eye drops and will miss only about a week of action.
While Parker wasn’t able to win an NBA championship this year, he’s going to try to win a gold medal with the French national team. Those plans, however, were almost ruined in the most fluke-ish of manners.
