toolbox for the bed of my truck (silverado1500) thats too short to mount?

I have a toolbox for the bed of my truck (silverado1500) thats too short to mount on the rails. Is there any ideas on how i can make it fit or make something to make it fit? Its probly gonna be used as show now. I doubt there will be any weight in it.
 
bolt a little bit of diamond plate metal to each side then drill holes in that and bolt to your truck, should look pretty good.
 
Make a couple of plates that will bolt to the box's mounting holes and that extend far enough to bolt to the top of the bed.
