tooth infection affected my lymph nodes.?

I had a tooth extracted 3-4 months ago. It became infected but i didnt get treatment until like a week later. The antibiotics cleared it up but iv noticed my glands in the back of my neck are still able to be felt. If i push on the back of my neck, deep in a feel hard balls on both sides. Iv showed doctor but they say its not dangerous becasue they arent growing, where as if it were cancer they would be alot bigger then what they are (they r only like a pea)
so is it normal to have glands still swollen this long after an infection?
