torrent speed ! (SO SLOW HELP)!?

Rite here goes peeps and i KNOpeeps ask this a MILLION times over ..BUT how do ya speed up torrents here are a few details
Im running Bitcommet on Windows Vista and my download speed is only a meesly 6Kb/s MAX! PLZ PLZ PLZ help
