Just had a ride through Perry Barr (literally 5 minutes away) to see the situation as i'd heard rumours of trouble spreading this way , although i saw no trouble yet there were a number of youths about in hoodies and scarves over their faces and a single police van patrolling the one stop shopping centre my feeling is that looting will occur there , still an awfull lot of blue lights going toward the city centre.

It does sound like a wave of mindless thuggery and violence. Someone on the Beeb was saying that driving this is the knowledge by the hoodies that the prison system is full, and very little if anything will be done to them.

Also a report of trouble in Leeds.

Yeah from what I've been listening to bbc's been throwing out every political excuse they can only for the interviewee to say its just a bunch of dicks seeing a chance for violence. Seeing it properly on the news has brought this home a bit more, knew it was called a riot but didn't expect to see it that bad and still growing. Going to be pretty impressed if no one gets killed over the next couple days.
