I am 17, junior in highschool, all that great stuff. I work for my dad occasionally on weekends, and earn some money. I have 1800 in my bank account that I would really rather not use. I have about 200 starting now thats in my wallet that i have put aside for buying a truck. I am torn between buying a cheap old dodge for 2000 or waiting till im a senior or maybe junior in college even and buying a much more expensive truck. I have no problem with saving up and work ethics, so either one is an option. If any other guy from highschool bought a truck or didn't buy a truck until senior year did you regret it and which would you do looking back now? I would love to hear your opinion on whether i should buy a cheap truck now or save for a nice truck and buy one in a couple years. Any tips or positive helpful comments I would love to hear. Thanks for your help
Thanks so far guys great answers but I work weekends, I just said most weekends because a lot of times I will get rained out because I work in construction rain means no work. Oh and I work full time over summer.

well me i saved up a few bucks and bought an 86 chevy truck, it was a POS, i bought it the summer before my senior year, paid for it in full, paid $1500 for it, of course i'd rather had a nicer truck but it was paid for and all, no payments, after i graduated and worked for about 6 months full time i bought a newer truck which is the one i have now and then sold the old truck once i got the newer one, im 23 now and going to be 24 in about 3 months, i've had this truck for 5 years now and its paid for, personally my opinion, don't spend every dime at once because you have to pay for things when you first get a truck, so maybe get a truck about what i got my first one, something between 1000 and 1500 and then once you work full time after high school get a better truck, since you only work a few weekends, not even every weekend, you don't want payments

- well now you said that, still since your not guranteed every weekend you still don't want payments, trust me, i used to deliver for Pro-Build, used to be The Contracter Yard, i delivered building materials to construction job sites in a big flatbed truck, 24 foot bed and the moffitt forklift on the back so i know how the construction industry is, its not so great right now so don't depend on your constructin job for monthly payments right now until your full time

buy the cheap truck.....get a job.......save money from that job.....buy a nice truck senior year.....sell cheap truck.....have money to make nice truck nicer

god da*m im so flippin smart XD
