I know the best way for someone to dignanose a problem with a car is to see it in person, but I was wondering if yall may have an idea..

I have a 1995 Toyota 4-runner. We got it used, and the guy who my momma and dad got it from said it sometimes has a hard time starting on a cold start. It does fine with that.

It starts fine for me and my momma but, when my dad drives it doesn't start. Also, it will crank up from a cold start, but when it hasn't cranked up, its been running for a little while and then shut off and it won't start back up for a second time.

Well, when it doesn't start, it sounds like it will crank up, but it won't. It sorta sounds like its skipping or something... Last time it did that, my dad told me to floor it when we were trying to get it to start. I did, he told me to keep trying for a little while, did for about 10 mins. It probably got flooded because of that. Also, my truck's been to a mechanic a bunch of times, but he can't find anything wrong with it. It has a new battery. We've also taken it to the toyota dealer and they ran all sorts of tests on the engine and the computer part, and they couldn't find anything wrong.

Do yall have an idea?
Thanks in advance yall and if yall need more info, just let me know (:

and sorry if i spelled anything wrong.. spell checker wasn't workin

Well if you are getting the engine to crank it could be a couple of things
1 you are not getting fuel I am guessing it is Electronic Fuel Injection so I would say put in some fuel system cleaner and see what happens.
2 You are not getting spark There could be a small short in the system that due to whatever knocking around it will occasionally happen.
3 Your muffler is clogged trust me it is a biggie check it and see. It might have a bees nest or something in there that will affect it's starting performance.
