im abroad for christmas this year and will be having xmas dinner with a Chinese family. Any ideas of an Irish dessert i could make and bring? Theyd like to try something but im sorely lacking in ideas right now :(

We like to have porter cake at Christmas, or there's the traditional fruit cake that's been fermenting in the cupboard since August - they can be a bit heavy though

You could always take something lighter & non-traditionally Christmas like an apple tart

Christmas pudding - but it's very heavy. Apple crumble with whipped cream or custard. Trifle.

Make a Guinness Chocolate Cake - they're so rich and delicious. See link to Nigella's recipe below. Yum!
