Trainers, nutrition freaks, etc. Help! I am trying to lose weight?

and keep it OFF. I am 27 yr. old female. I weighed 125 when I graduated high school. 9 years later, I weight 189lbs and I'm only 5'2". Scary, huh? Well, I've made my mind up and I'm not turning back. BUT, I'm having a hard time losing weight. I have been walking/jogging and using the eliptical for over 2 months and have kept off 5lbs. I am just starting to drink more water and I eat about 1900-2000 calories a day. I drink 1% milk and eat pretty healthy. There's always room for improvement. Are my calories all wrong? I feel like I'd be STARVING if I went lower but if I need to do so - I will find a way to control my urges. Can anyone give me some tips on calories? I'm a medium build with a thick butt and legs. I wear a 12 - 14 right now and would like to be comfortable in a 6 - 8. I want to still have my curves but be healthy. Please help this chubby chic!
