Transferring music from one Ipod to another?

For my birthday I'm getting an Ipod Nanochromatic. I already have the Ipod nano but after two years of lugging it around it's beginning to break. Before I get this new Ipod and lose all my music I want to know if there is a way to get all of my music from my nano onto my nanochromatic saftely and easily. My internet is kind of slow so downloading anything is out of the option. I haven't downloaded any of my music because they're mostly CD's other people have let me borrow over the years, so most of the songs I can't get back.
So is there any other easy way?
