Given the current fall of the dollar against the euro, is it financially wise to purchase euros right now rather than wait? Are credit cards accepted easily outside Dublin? Should I take a credit card instead and get cash? THANKS!

Traveler checks are the safest i think and the y are more convenient in Europe.
BUT when the $ is down buy Euro here.

credit cards are used widely around ireland, but i would still suggest buying euros, just because you would be paying ridiculous interest on your purchases back at home - it would easily be more expensive than the one time conversion rate from dollar-euro.

Bring a card but you'll definately want at least a few euros on you. Some places don't take a card.
