Trouble with my Nokia from T-Mobile flip phone?

So I have a phone from Nokia, through T-Moblie but I got a site that let me download music to play for an alert tone or a message tone. The problem is thta every time I try to use my copied tones from CD's I bought it says "not allowed by activation key" But I BOUGHT the song, why can't I play my songs as a ringtone or message tone???
