I don't know if this is related or makes any sense the way I am going to describe this but tonight when I was driving home from work there was heavy snow on the roads and all of a sudden it felt like my truck was jumping, it was as if i was riding over a bunch of bumps on the road. I was wondering if anyone could let me know what could be the possible cause, I am going to bring my truck into the shop when i get paid but just wondering if anyone had any ideas.

I have a 97 Dodge Dakota with a 5.2L with a manual transmission. I do have a problem with it stalling constantly when I put it in neutral or when i'm in reverse when my foot is not on the gas. I have been told by one technition that i need a new automatic tensioner and by another that the tensioner is fine.

I don't know if this problem is related to my already current problem with my truck or just related to the snow somehow so any idea is greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Allan
I forgot to mention that no I do not have 4 wheel drive and thank you for the quick responses. There was definitely nothing on the road also it seemed to happen while and shortly after turning a corner. I'm definitely getting it checked out friday and not driving it until then. Good answers though, anyone else have any ideas?
