If belief in Santa Claus proposed survival of death you can guarantee a lot more would take it as a serious belief.

No that would be a wish as you are basing your belief on want, for Christians it is what they believe is real it is reality. Christians in this modern time didn't say that there is a heaven, the Bible did, and as Christians believe it is inspired (or) the words of God that is why we believe it.
