I'm a bit confused, okay so we have "EADGBe", tell me....
1. If I wanna make "E" to D... should I turn the Peg Up or Down-
2. If I wanna make "A" to E ... should I turn the Peg Up or Down-

Im asking cuz the last time I tried to make E into a Drop D tuning and started tuning UP, UP, UP and the string snapped...scary experience!

ppl pls answer this 'not-yet-callused fingers guitar players' question ;)
thX, ok so u tune up to tighten and down to loosen, but if u tune 6th string (high E) up what will it become A or e?

When you are tuning to drop D, you are tuning the lowest E string down a whole step, you are supposed to tune down and loosen the string. If you were tuning up, you were tightening the string and that is what snapped it.

well usually when you tune, you pluck the string and just move the peg either up or down til the sound matches the tuner. I too have had the string snap and i am very careful, i dont really like tuning the guitar, but its something that needs to be done. And im in the same stage as you, ive had a guitar, and since i cant afford lessons i am playing tabs for different songs.I know Iron Man, Seven Nation army and the general riff of Everywhere I Go by Hollywood Undead.

But yeah thats the best i can give you. turning it away from you tightens and towards you loosens (i think) dont quote me on that... Hope i helped!

you turn the tuning peg clockwise to loosen and anti-clockwise to tighten the string(s)
