TWILIGHT FANS: What's the big deal?

Before we get started, let's get something straight. I am not some person that goes around hating twilight. I have read the books, and so far seen all the movies, but I don't go around saying, "TEAM EDWARD!!" or, "TEAM JACOB!!" I don't think any of the actors that play the movies are "incredibly hot" or want to go off and marry them. Why do people think that twilight is the greatest thing that's ever happened to them? It's a clever series, and has some interesting plot points, but I don't think that's the reason everyone loves them.

And, isn't this whole vampire thing a little overdone? Even before the twilight series came out, there were plenty of vampire books, and now there are even more! I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm into the whole vampires and monsters thing, but, why not just stick to something original? Anybody ever heard of the Lost Boys?

Please don't go around saying I'm a stupid hater, because I'm not. I would like some input from everyone, not just twilight fans. Tell me what's so great about twilight.

Thanks.

I am one of those girls obsessed with twilight.. I'm not particualarly sad and go around saying "TEAM EDWARD" or "TEAM JACOB". Personally, i think that the reason loads of girls love twilight, is because after watching it, to some, it becomes a fantasy and a dream. Its what a lot of girls want in a guy (not a monster) the whole intensity. The books and films are full of so many emotions and its quite intense i thought. I know i'm very, very lame, but I actually felt as if a piece of me was missing when I had finished the last page of the last book. You feel as if you're part of the book when reading it. Its amazing

Nothing much. But then again, I wasn't much of a twihard. Taylor Lautner is cute but yes, I wouldn't marry him. I guess the whole thing started when the first twilight movie came out.

For me it isn't about the movies at all. It is about the fact that you can find love in the place you least expect. I forgot all about my problems when i was reading Twilight, i fell in love with Edward and i mean how could you not? He is forced into the role of the villain, but he refuses the fate he was handed and tries to be good. He and his family fight the thirst so that they don't have to kill the innocent. They could give in to the thirst and start murdering people, but they chose not to. The books allow you to escape this world and enter a completely new one. I have found other books that i love just as much, twilight is just one book that most people around the world like. harry potter had the same effect on people when it first came out.

Personally I love Twilight, but I don't care for the merchandise and the extreme fans and all the crap about "I'm pregnant with soandsos baby." Blah blah blah. But Stephenie Meyer is in my opinion a fantasitic author and I am glad I read the books because I love romance novels and vampire novels now.

The movies are good, i don't care for Kristen Stewert very much, but I think both Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner play their characters well (though my favorite one of the Twilight cast is Ashely Green!) I think that Twilight is really no better than any other novel or series. There is always a limit, and that limit has REALLY been crossed by some fans.

I completely agree.

I'm a fan of Twilight. I'll admit to owning one of the books and both of the movies and a CD. I do get excited when something new comes out about it, and I love seeing Taylor Lautner with his shirt off. My biggest confession is that I have a - team Jacob- bracelet. But in my defense, it was given to me for christmas by my boyfriend who knows I like Twilight. And yes, I have a boyfriend. I'm smart enough to know Taylor Lautner isn't going to magically come and marry me. Nor do I want it. I have my own sexy true love :P

Idky girls get so obsessed. It seems unhealthy if you ask me. Yes it's fun getting into stuff, and it is a really good story, but people shouldn't make it their life. So I agree. Vampires are overdone. I'm so sick of seeing a question about wanting criticism on a story and then I read it to help them out and it turns out to be a cut off from twilight. That's so annoying. Get some original ideas people.
