Um the Supreme Court counts it legally as a race. Also many Hebrew/Jews made sure to marry within themselves so that they could keep their identity and not mix with the other races.

Israel was, and to some extents still is a race, an ethnicity. The Jews, like every other ethnicity have intermarried with other races and nationalities to the extent that there are few sabras left. To declare them not a race, is to deny God, who made them His chosen people early on in Bible history. That "chosen" title ended with the death of our Lord, on the cross in 33-AD. The Bible tells us that the veil of the temple was "rent in twain", signifying that God was no longer to be found in the 'Holy of Holies', and therefore not in Israel.
