I found an old one in my loft the other day, was thinking about setting it up. Haven't used it since 1994 but I'm sure it still works.
I was wondering if the old HI band is still being used by many home bases, not interested in speaking to truckers as they used to turn their squelch up and ignore all home bases in the 90s :-))

CB in the UK is all but dead. I do notice a few home-base hotspots still as I drive around the country - the midlands and Kent being 2 noticeable strongholds. But really people are instead using other means of communicating now. An FM CB (AM is still illegal in the UK) has a realistic range of only about 5 miles, 8 maximum with a booster.

Your CB friends could all set up a chat room or conference and have perfect clarity all over the world.
