Is it possible to unlock a phone, remotely? Like I would call the carrier for the subsidy code, and someone with another country could do it based on instructions I could send them later the same day? How does it even work to unlock a phone?

It would be an at&t gophone, and it would be after 90 days, so they would give you the subsidy code.
