I am on O2 pay-as-you-go in the UK with an LG Optimus GT540 running Android 1.6. The LG website says that there is an update available to get Android 2.1, but:
1. My contacts are stored on my sim: is there something I simply don't need to do on the instructions that they give?
2. I read somewhere that you shouldn't update on O2 pay and go: does this still apply?
3. What's the point of upgrading anyway? What are the advantages of 2.1 over 1.6? Are there that many apps that don't run 1.6, and will it make my phone faster/better/slower/worse?
sorry about the title, it's 1.6 to 2.1 not 2.1 to 2.2 im an idiot
