Upgrading a Smartphone?

I currently have a Samsung Fascinate smartphone, and I want to get a newer phone, perhaps a Samsung Galaxy S 3. But I think my family already renewed our family plan (it has been just over two years since we started the plan), and to get the phone by itself would cost $700. Is there any way to upgrade it cheaply even though we already renewed our contract?

check your local craigs list. lots of people sell/trade their phones on there. you can usually pick one up cheap or if you have something to trade you can trade for one on there. hope this helps you out
