i want to upgrade my rear derailleur from a tiagra to a dura ace. and possibly the front as well. my shifters are tiagra. will there be much performance improvement or just abetter quality product with less chance of breaking. also the rear derailleur looks like it has less chain clearance so would i have to take links out of my chain, and would i also need to upgrade my hsifters as well. explanations are always appreciated thanks

first why spend the extra$ go with ultegra. minimal difference in quality & weight to dura-ace big difference in price. if you have long travel derailleur then ya you'll have to pull a cpl links. the bearings & pivots are better in the upper class product. smoother action on shifts you don't need to replace shifters but i would just for the compatibility and performance. if you have triple or dbl chainrings you'll have to get front derailleur and shifters to match. personally i would change whole drive-train and bottom bracket bearing to ultegra quality.upgrade brakes to 105 or ultegra.
