Urgent Phone Help - Sony Ericsson C510a Problems After Updating?

Before the update, my C510a had a few minor display freezing problems. Sometimes the screen would randomly freeze and it would take from 5minutes to maybe even an hour for it to come back; it varied. I went on this website to try to find solutions to this problem and it suggested to update my phone with the latest firmware and so I did. However, the update made my phone even worse, now the the screen is divided horizontally into 2 identical screens and the freezing occurs much more often. Practically within 5 seconds it comes back alive. The Sony Ericsson customer service told me to try to reinstall the updates and so I did, but it didn't help at all. I can't get a new phone either because it would renew my contract which my family wants to get out of so what do you suggest I should do?
