I moved to Germany and am having trouble with dvd-to-tv connect. I have a Sanyo DP37547 HD TV I brought from the US because it was recent purchase. Once here, I purchased an LG V192H DVD/VCR combo to play Euro DVDs and my old tapes. I've tried every cable configuration possible and can still only get as close as black and white video. Audio is fine. I also purchased a TechniSat HD S2 sat box and picture/sound is perfect.
The sat box is connected via HDMI cable to my TV (no SCART connection on TV). Connecting the DVD player to the TV via HDMI cable results in no picture/sound.
I'm wondering if anyone has had experience with this issue, presumbably I'm not the first to encounter this since Americans move to Europe all the time. Is there anything I can do other than buy a new TV? Are there any signal processors or electronic devices on the market capable of resolving this problem?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
