Using a Motorola Droid phone overseas?

I'm traveling overseas soon, and I was wondering if I could still use my phone without adding/changing my current plan. I have the $30 monthly data plan.

So specifically, would I be able to call, text message, or use apps (that require internet) on my phone without any extra charges?
 
The answer is no! It WILL cost you extra!

Furthermore, is that a regular Droid? It's CDMA only! Do they even have CDMA carriers where you're going? Do they have a roaming agreement with Verizon?

You will end up paying HUGE roaming charges unless you get a plan BEFORE you get over there... assuming it's available at all.
