i am going on a cycling Holiday soon and was wondering if it would be ok to use my road racing bike which is quite light to tour on. i would be carrying luggage and things.. would this damage the bike? or would it cope ok with the extra weight,. im quite light anyway but i dont want my bike to break,. many thanks :)

where would you put the 'luggage and things'?
that is the problem
plus race bikes are less stable with odd weight distributions

anyway
get a touring bike for touring
too ma ny reasons to list
that is why they have them

wle

It will depend on the bike and how much you need to carry, you can always go with a Bob trailer.

If you haven't bought a bike yet I would go with a touring bike. You can take them on smooth gravel bike paths and dirt roads. They also handle rougher pavement as well.
