Hi, I'm a little bit confused. I'm currently writing an essay (at university standard) and I was wondering how you usually present quotes. I have always wrote my sentence put a comma in (unless it integrated into the sentence) and then I write the quote. However, recently I've been told to put a colon before the quote. Which is correct or more appropriate? As I have never really seen so many uses of a the colon! Thanks
